This year's Kansas State University cattlemen today will be held virtually the event is scheduled for March 5 and will begin at 9:30 am. The feature topic will center around the pandemic's impact on the beef supply chain. Jason Lusk, head of the Department of Agricultural Economics at Purdue University will highlight the effect COVID-19 has had on the US beef industry. Jason Rumley and Robert Norris both with Radian Group will focus on the processing retail and foodservice segments. K-State Extension meat science specialist Liz Boyle will wrap up this topic by giving a presentation on the pandemic's impact on small Kansas processors. Sandy Johnson k state livestock production specialist also will be on hand to discuss reproductive technology, resources, and tools available to producers.
