It was announced last week that the Biden administration might be interested in pulling back on the biofuel mandates as they exist in current form. It is speculation and DC politics at this point, and you might do as well trying to outguess the weather. But biofuel demand was renewed and reenergize under the first six months of the Biden administration as as opposed to the Trump administration. That combined with oil and gas suppliers and eating a little more time to get going full strength after a pandemic shutdown led to a robust demand for ethanol and biodiesel that we haven't seen for a long time if ever.

Ag news from agview.net Kansas senator Jerry Moran is once again introduced legislation that would relax the US trade embargo with Cuba. The legislation's goal is to open up another avenue for profit for America's farmers and ranchers. Moran says the current regulations are limiting revenue streams for farmers, ranchers and even manufacturers. A unilateral trade embargo on Cuba blocks Americans, farmers, ranchers and manufacturers selling into a market just 90 miles off the US shores. Kansas Farm Bureau president rich Feld says having the opportunity to export things like wheat, corn and soybeans to our neighbors down in Cuba would be a win for farming communities across Kansas and even around the country. The US Trade Commission. This shows that lifting the embargo could increase exports by 166% and bring an additional $800 million to the US economy over five years.

The program airs across the State of Kansas over several broadcast stations on Saturday mornings: 5:30 WIBW-13 (Topeka); 6:00 KSCW-33 (Wichita) and 6:30 FOX 14 (Pittsburg). In its eighth year, the program pinpoints and discusses issues important to Kansas agriculture. including current crop conditions, market updates, legislative reports, the latest technologies and other helpful producer-related information.
